The Hopewell Project is an ongoing construction project in Montgomery, Texas. What started as an experimental use of alternate "old world" building materials was soon to become a learning ground for those interested in learning more about the materials, their effect on the environment and the installation of the materials themselves.

It is with this goal in mind that artisans,designers, home builders and architects are invited to explore, demonstrate and create as many as seven different structures that, when completed, together, would create The Hopewell Hacienda.

Developer, entrepeneur, commissioner and "dreamer" of this project is Gail Moran. Long fascinated by the Mexican Hacienda, it was her desire to create a hacienda that would look as authentic as those created hundreds of years ago. Using natural clay and stone products, lime plasters and lime washes, she started the project in 2008. Beginning with the smaller, simpler structures and then moving on to the grander and more intricate buildings over the next few years - it will be not only be a project of construction but one of education. "We need to let others know that these materials still exist and that structures that were built with them, so long ago - still stand today", she says.

It is her intention and that of Olde World Exteriors (the company formed out of this endeavor) to bring to the public, the methods and materials of yesteryear to help others appreciate and create their own authentic "old world" home. It is the belief of Olde World Exteriors that "if you use the right product - you can achieve the right results".
